I think they are duck. These duck was hanging outside of a restaurant on the sidewalk. Of course, it would fail the hygiene test back in Australia, but they are surely tasted great!
Boiled chicken sold in the big pot. No worries, they are from supermarket.

Breakfast Joint
In the early morning, I would go to this breakfast joint everyday to get some cakes, fried eggs, hot soup, etc. The stall in the photo is selling congee and rice ball.

Low Class Income Level

This is a recruitment sign outside a restaurant. The full time position for the manager of restaurant is around $1000 yen per month. That's translated to around AUD $150. Can we survive on $150 a month in Australia?

Train Station - Rice Bag

This photo was taken on the platform of train station while we were looking for our designated carriage. What is interesting is that people is using the rice bags as luggages. I guess it's cheap, light-weight and durable.
